I have mentioned a couple of times throughout my musings here that I am a member of a Fujifilm community here in Australia. The group is a Facebook group and I have been a part of it for a couple of years now.  In recent months they have built a WordPress website where people can learn more about the group and also gain access to the blogs written for that site. I may have mentioned more recently that I do a fair bit of blogging for that site as well as my own little site here. I generally do not reblog the work I do for the Fuji X Aus site here as it is a separate entity tailored specifically for Fujifilm shooters.

However I thought I would do a little summary here with links directly to those articles. I am really proud of the articles or blogs I write for the Fuji X Aus community as I get to interview members of the group on various topics.  Some are just casual shooters like you and I. Others are professional shooters who make a living doing what they love with Fujifilm X Series gear. And then there are the cream of the crop such as the official Fujifilm X Photographer that I interviewed last week about his photographic journey.

I hope you enjoy the extra read and if you live in Australia and shoot with Fujifilm, then please feel free to join the community by searching for Fuji X Aus in Facebook.

FUJI X AUS – FUJIFILM AUSTRALIA – DIGITAL CAMERA WAREHOUSE – MELBOURNE PHOTO WALK – MAY 25, 2018.

This is one of the first blogs I wrote for the group and covers a night walk the community took part in alongside Fujifilm Australia and Digital Camera Warehouse.  The community often has events and where possible we will do a collaboration with a retailer or Fujifilm itself. Check it out here!

LANDSCAPE TECHNIQUES WITH THE FUJIFILM X SERIES.

This is a two part series that has scope for further entries in the series as you will see when you check out the blogs that I interview members of the Fuji X Aus community on their approach to landscape photography. In this series I have chosen photographers that have an exceptional knack for getting more than the just the horizon aligned. You can check out those blogs here and here.

FUJIFILM PRIME VERSUS ZOOM LENSES

Again a two part series to address the age old question of who prefers zooms over primes. A novel idea to some but for me personally I much prefer to shoot with prime lenses over zooms any day. You can check out both of these blogs here and here. This is also a great read if you are looking at either entering the Fujifilm ecosystem of cameras and lenses and want some experienced advice on what lenses work for different people.

WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? BRIDGING THE GENDER GAP IN PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

This is a blog series that I am particularly proud of. I was asked to explore and write about the gender gap in professional photography. It traditionally is a boys club and whilst things are changing for the better, there is still a divide. I have already interviewed two professional female photographers on this topic and have a further two more in the weeks ahead. The reception to these articles has been amazing and so you can check them out for your self here and here.

SHOOTING THROUGH ADVERSITY! A PHOTOGRAPHERS JOURNEY

This is the final series I want to share with you all and again it is something that I am really proud of. I have been very candid on this, my, site about my experiences with grief since the loss of my Isobel. And how seeking a creative pursuit such as my photography has helped tremendously in dealing with some of the issues that have arisen in my experiences. Well I took that idea and have interviewed two incredible people. In both of their cases they have experienced significant health impacts yet have held on to their photography as a means of pushing through the adversity that they have faced. Both very inspirational stories and I am so grateful for the time and input these guys gave. Check it out here and here.
